Corvara, the cradle of skiing and winter tourism in Alta Badia and South Tyrol
Alta Badia, Sella Ronda e Dolomiti Superski have become synonymous with top quality skiing in South Tyrol and the Dolomites. But not everybody knows that Corvara was among the first locations to launch winter tourism: the first ski school of Val Badia and the first chair lift in Italy have been born here.
The ski slopes and lifts of the area are renowned in the whole world, thanks to the 1.200 km of the Dolomiti Superski, but also because of the unique care with which the slopes are daily groomed, making them as fun as safe. The possibility to reach other destinations such as Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, Marmolada, Cortina d' Ampezzo, Plan de Corones with a single ski pass, allows you to discover every day a new area in South Tyrol and the Dolomites, starting always from Alta Badia.
For those who do not ski or just wanting to try a new winter activity the choice is ample and varied: snowshoe excursions, cross country skiing, sledge rides, free rides, snow park, horse carriage rides, nordic walking, ice skating and a lot more.
Crown your day with a relaxing stroll through the streets of the town, discovering its bars, restaurants, inns and shops, where you can taste the best dishes of the Ladin cuisine of the Dolomites.
